Cameron's days in the hospital.

In the hospital there were many new experiences. Here you can see Daddy getting his first experience with a dirty diaper. (These are the before and after shots. Nothing icky!!)

While in the hospital Cameron had many excited visitors. A few of Mommy's friends stopped by to visit, but in all of the excitement we forgot to take pictures. (Sorry, we'll get you on the next visit!) It was sure nice to meet so many friendly faces!:) We hope to have many more visitors soon!

Grandma Gebhardt
Granddad Gebhardt
Uncle Erich
Nanny Mary Beth (Nanny is a named used in the Southern states)
Cioci Stephanie (Cioci is the polish way of saying Aunt)

Also in the hospital, Cameron let us see some of her many, countless in fact, adorable poses and faces. Mommy is a camera crazed looney!! And, when Mommy is holding Cami she makes Daddy take the pictures.

Then, the doctors said everything was good and we could go home. Cameron was only 62 hours old when the official discharge papers were filed. Mommy was so excited to put Cameron in real clothes for the first time. She even found her too cute for words just in the onesie!! Silly Mommy!!

Finally, at about 11:30am we were all packed up and ready to go home. We took special precautions with our most valuable package!! Look how little Cameron looks in her carseat. We're sure she will grow into it soon and then we'll have to buy a bigger one!!

Baby Karnes is here!!!

Baby Karnes, AKA, Cameron (Cami) Marie Karnes is here!! She arrived on Fri. Oct. 3rd at 7:34pm. She was 7lbs 1oz and 21 inches long. She did not want to make her entrance the old fashioned way, so she was delivered via c-section.

In the nursery Cami held her Daddy's hand and they had a long talk! She did not say much, but she could hear the other babies making lots of noise.
Then Cami and Daddy met Mommy in the recovery room where they spent about an hour before going back to their suite!
Uncle Erich spent a lot of time on Friday night making Cami's announcement sign.

Small change of plans

For all those who are really wanting to know, we have had a small change of plans. I will not be induced on the morning of Tuesday the 30th. The induction has been moved to Thursday Oct. 2nd at 7pm. This should work a bit better, because Mike has to administer the flu shots at his store in the morning of the 2nd. So we will go into the hospital after all of his work obligations are taken care of. Obviously...if I go into labor then things will happen when they happen. That's all for now!!! I will see the doctor again Wednesday morning, happy birthday to me!:)

One week to go!

Well, as of yesterday I have one official week to go, but the baby seems to be pretty happy staying put. My next doctor visit will be on my official due date Sept. 25th and if nothing happens by Sept. 30th I will be induced at 7am.

We have done more work in the baby's room and have even started to put up decorations. The changing table was delivered but a few parts were broken, so now we are waiting for replacement parts. All of the baby's clothes are washed and many have been put away, but again we are still waiting to put together the changing table which will house things like undershirts, bath towels and washcloths.

One last things worth mentioning... See the basket at the bottom of the picture above? I went looking at the dollar store for something to go in this space so that it would be a useful space. I found this basket in the last isle with some junk in it, so I dumped out the junk onto the shelf and brought the basket to the register. The manager was standing there and I told him that the basket did not have a tag on it. He told me that it was a dollar! Sold! I brought the basket to my mom with some material and ribbon I had gotten from Mary Beth, my sister, and she made the lining! What a DEAL! Baskets like this one sell for nearly $20 at Mike's Walgreen's.

Three weeks to go!

Well...we have three weeks to go as of today! The house is getting more and more ready every day. The changing table is still not here but we did get confirmation that it is in route. As we put more furniture in the baby's room, the room gets smaller and smaller. The glider may not even fit in there. We will have to rearrange a few times to see what works best.

I went to the doctor yesterday and the news is that I will not have to have any antibiotics on the day of the delivery because the Group B streptococcus test came back negative!! As far as dilation...none to speak of. They will check again next week. Until then we will continue to get ready for baby Karnes!!

It's beginning to look a lot like a baby lives here!

Well it’s official…
We are putting together the fun stuff for the baby!

Next comes the baby’s room…the crib, the armoire, and when it gets here the dresser/changing table.

I can’t wait to decorate!!

All that jungle stuff is going to be so cute!
Animals here…Animals there…Animals, Animals everywhere!

And then to put the baby’s clothes away.
As you can see…we have quite the pile to wash and fold/hang.

Five weeks to go!

As of today I have five official weeks to go. I thought maybe it was time for a new belly picture for those of you who just love them. I will say, though I am not huge, my belly is way bigger than a month ago. I am happy to report...No Stretch Marks! My doctor says that I probably will not get any, and that goes for this and any other pregnancies I may have down the road. COOL!

At the last doctor visit the baby’s heart rate was 154 and I measured 33cm. These numbers are right on target according to the doctor. I go to the doctor again next week and then every week there after. They will be doing all of those end of pregnancy checks to make sure everything is a go for labor and delivery. Mike and I have finished all of our prenatal classes, including Lamaze. Our next step is to put the nursery together, and get all of the stuff put away. We have the crib and an armoire, but the dresser/changing table is ordered and should come in a week or two. That’s all for now, talk to you soon.

Baby Shower 8-10-08

On Sunday my Mom and sister gave me the best baby shower. It was a really great time!

I was so glad to see so many of my friends and family there!
I am sorry if you were unable to come, but I hope this post helps you feel like part of the fun.

The gifts were so generous! Thanks to everyone for the many things I am sure to use in the near future. I can't wait to see how cute baby Karnes will look in the many adorable outfits. (Go Cubs) I am sure the baby will love playing with the toys and the play mats! I am already planning many walks with the stroller throughout the fall.

The games and activities were a blast! Thanks again for your creativity on the scrapbooking pages. I plan to put them to good use!

And then there was cake...really good cake!

Thanks again to everyone!
