24 week up-date

Well, I am now past the 24 week mark. At my last Dr. visit they took some blood to test my blood sugar levels. I am happy to report all is well! The doc says everything looks right on schedule and that I am measuring right on target. The baby's heart rate was 165, which is slightly higher than normal, and the doc said the some would say that means it's a girl. However, they are only correct about 50% of the time :) It's going to be a...baby!!! We are still not going to find out any more than that. Baby Karnes is very busy at different times of the day. Mike was able to feel the baby move for the first time a few weeks ago and many times since then. He/she is most active at night just before we go to bed. That's all for now. I'll pass on more news as we get it.

Baby Belly

Ok... Ok... For those of you who are just dieing to see the baby belly here it is...

It seems bigger to me. Mike and I were out for walk and I was wearing shorts...lets just say I can still see my feet, but not the shorts. I am sure it is just a matter of time before the feet are out of view too.

New pictures of baby Karnes!

Mike and I went this morning for the 20 week ultrasound. We were able to see so much. The baby's heart was beating very steadily and the technician was able to show us all four chambers of the heart. We were also able to see many other body parts like the spine, the femur (thigh bone), the bladder, the kidneys, lips, eyes, hands, and the feet.



This is a view of the spine from the back. You can see the back of the head at the far right of the picture.




This is the baby's foot, complete with toes!




This last one is the baby's profile. You can see the eye sockets, the tip of the nose and the lips. At the top of the picture you can see one of the baby's hands.

I think he/she is moving in there!

Hi all,
Well for a few weeks now I have been feeling little pops, like maybe a punch or a kick, but not very frequently. Then there was yesterday...I was sitting at the computer and I believe little baby Karnes was doing flips! It was pretty cool. This Thursday is the official half way point, 20 weeks. Then on Friday we will get to see baby Karnes again! I can't wait! I'll post the ultrasound pictures soon.

These pictures are from my 13 week ultrasound. I love them, but I can't wait to see the next ones on May 9th!



I really like this first one!! You can see the nose and the chin very well.



However, everyone else tends to like this one more. I'm not sure why.

My first blog for Baby Karnes

Hi everyone.
So I know you all know by now that Mike and I are expecting in late September. I will post the first ultrasound soon. I hope to keep you all up to date on the exciting happenings, but there is not too much to report at this time. I am currently between my 16th and 17th weeks and all is good. Most of the morning sickness has ended and I feel pretty good most days. Our week 20 ultrasound is scheduled for May 9th, however, we have decided not to find out the sex of the baby. Feel free to say hello via e-mail or over the phone.
